Cream shortening sugar eggs and vanilla,

Stir together flour baking powder and salt and blend into mixture,

Divide dough in half,

Blend melted chocolate into one half,

Chill both portions,

Roll plain dough into 12x9 inch oblong,

Roll chocolate dough same size and place on top,

Roll together jelly roll style beginning at wide side,

Chill again,

Heat oven to 400°F,

Cut dough into 1/8 inch slices and place on ungreased cookie sheets,

Bake 8–10 minutes until light golden brown.
