Norwegian Macaroons

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F,

    Mix first six dry ingredients together,

    Add coconut and stir,

    Pour in melted butter and margarine and mix then add egg and blend well,

    Drop by heaping teaspoons onto ungreased baking sheet leaving 2 inches between cookies,

    Flatten slightly with fork and top each with 3 or 4 almond slices and sprinkle of nutmeg,

    Bake 15 minutes watching not to overbake,

    Cool on racks.

Note

Dip fork in cold water before flattening cookies to prevent sticking.
