Sugar Cookies (Grandma Skinner)

Ingredients
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla or lemon flavoring
Instructions

    Cream butter and sugar together,

    Add eggs and vanilla and beat well,

    Add dry ingredients all at once and mix,

    Form dough into round balls and roll in sugar,

    Place on cookie sheets and flatten with bottom of greased glass,

    Bake at 375°F until golden brown.
Note
May use lemon flavoring instead of vanilla.
